Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the one-day series against Sri Lanka to be played later this month. Tendulkar injured his elbow while attempting to take a catch at leg slip. He was suffering from hyper-extended jarring in his left elbow but still came out to bat in the second innings. Tamil Nadu captain S.Badrinath has been named as his replacement. The five-match ODI series begins from August 18. This will be the third successive ODI series that Tendulkar will miss due to injury.
A groin injury had ruled him out of the Kitply Cup in Bangladesh and the Asia Cup in Pakistan.
