    Stumps on Day 1 : Ind: 311/5 (85.0 Ovs)

    .
What an outstanding day of cricket it has been. Mohali couldn't have witnessed anything better with such major milestones being achieved. Sachin Tendulkar crossed Lara to become the highest run getter in Test cricket history and also became the first one to clock 12,000 Test runs. His good old mate Saurav Ganguly too achieved a landmark of reaching 7000 Test runs and became the 4th highest run getter in Tests for his country.

Coming back to the game, this has been a superb day full of action. The bat dominated the ball for the major part of the day today and it had to be, it was a good batting track and the Indian batsmen batted well to peg back the opponents. But then, Australia fought back hard to dismiss the set batsmen and it was game on again.

That is when the legendary pair stepped into the middle and rose to the ocassion, superb hundred plus partnership brought back India into the contest again. However, the record smasher was out just at the brink of stumps but Saurav is still there in the middle.

The Indians would want to bat as long as they possibly can to give themselves a big total to bowl with.

    Movement of the day:
    .
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has finally done it and become the highest run-getter in the history of Test cricket. The Little Master broke Brian Charles Lara's record of 11,953 runs in the second Test against Australia at Mohali on Friday when he went past the 15-run mark in the first innings. Tendulkar reached the landmark when he took three runs after gliding the first ball after the tea break towards third man off rookie pacer Peter Siddle.

Day 2 should bring a lot of intriguing cricket. Do join us then. Till then from all of us here in the comm box, it is good bye and good night. Adios...
