*Dubai:* Australia have reaffirmed their number-one status after 10 weeks of dominance in one-day cricket as India have slipped back to third position on Wednesday.

Having begun the seven-match ODI series against Australia with a genuine chance of topping the ICC rankings, India lost the rubber 2-4 after the seventh and final match was washed out in Mumbai on Wednesday.

For Australia, it caps off a superb 10 weeks or so of one-day cricket, having beaten England 6-1 away from home, followed by a victorious performance at the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa and now an impressive series victory over Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team.

Notwithstanding a number of injuries to some of their key players, Australia have shown the world how they deservedly sit atop the ODI Championship table, a position they had briefly lost to both South Africa and India recently.

However, with a five-ODI series coming up against England and with Australia concentrating on Test cricket until the third week in January, there is an opportunity for South Africa to close they gap of eight points now Aussies are ahead of them.

Elsewhere, Zimbabwe have lost one ratings point following their two-nil series defeat to South Africa and now sit just a single point above Ireland in 10th position.
